About The Position

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Facilities & Property Maintenance Technician to help maintain and repair company properties. This position is ideal for someone with strong handyman skills who can identify and resolve everyday building maintenance issues before they become larger problems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, has experience with general building maintenance and repairs, and takes pride in keeping our facilities safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in handyman work, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of general construction and building repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine the appropriate solution.
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance requests.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel between company properties as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining commercial office buildings or similar facilities.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general construction.
  • Experience coordinating with outside contractors and service providers.
  • Property management or facilities management experience.
  • Relevant trade experience or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Travel between company-owned and operated properties to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Inspect buildings and identify maintenance issues, damage, and areas requiring attention.
  • Perform general handyman repairs, including: Repairing or replacing doors, hinges, handles, locks, and hardware.
  • Touch-up painting and other basic cosmetic repairs.
  • Replacing ceiling tiles and making minor ceiling repairs.
  • Installing shelves, fixtures, signs, office equipment, and other items.
  • Performing basic electrical tasks such as replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, or bulbs when appropriate and permitted.
  • Performing basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, fixtures, or other minor components.
  • Addressing minor flooring and tile repairs.
  • Repairing molding, trim, baseboards, and other interior finishes.
  • Patching drywall and repairing holes, cracks, and other wall damage.
  • Complete preventative maintenance throughout company properties.
  • Identify issues that require a licensed contractor or specialized professional and coordinate or communicate the need for outside repairs.
  • Maintain basic tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other general facilities and property maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Assist with snow removal, landscaping, or other property-related tasks as needed.
  • Keep records of completed repairs and identify recurring maintenance issues.
  • Assist with preparing spaces for new employees, office moves, renovations, and other facility needs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from employees and management.
