UC Irvine is a prestigious public university known for its academic achievement and research. Student Housing is a large, self-funded department within UC Irvine, responsible for housing approximately 9,000 students across multiple housing communities and support units. The department manages over 250 buildings and approximately 3.3 million sq. ft., with a significant annual operating budget and a large staff. Student Housing aims to increase the percentage of UCI students it houses as part of the campus Long Range Development Plan and also provides essential maintenance and repair services to residents. The Facilities Project Manager role is within the Facilities Operations and Capital Projects unit, which is dedicated to building, maintaining, and operating facilities that support a learning-centered and resident-focused organization. This position plays a critical role in planning, developing, and implementing projects and initiatives to achieve departmental goals. The role requires strong collaborations, industry knowledge, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to identify improvements and develop solutions with broad support. The incumbent will utilize various systems, create or modify resources as needed, and maintain a sharp focus on shared priorities and effective communication to advance mid- to long-term goals.
