Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily support and maintenance of all Building Automation Systems (BAS), ensuring optimal performance and providing issue resolution.
• Serve as administrator for critical alarm database application, including documentation, database structure, and management report requirements.
• Act as the BAS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engineering support, reviewing design documents, specifications, and approving BAS submittals.
• Support and provide direction to project management for BAS-related aspects of new and retrofit construction projects.
• Oversee the project commissioning process, including approving commissioning plans, attending meetings, and coordinating BOT personnel.
• Support energy management by implementing diagnostic software for efficient building operation analysis in hospital, clinic, and research facilities.
• Prepare user information and specifications that conform to all applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
• Collaborate with engineering to create new energy-efficient control strategies.
• Review contractor pricing submittals for energy projects and evaluate return on investment.
• Serve as project manager for energy projects when applicable, directing implementation and confirming objectives are met.
• Update and/or create BAS specifications as needed to meet current industry standards.
• Configure field hardware for expansion and upgrades of the BAS architecture.
• Determine system integration requirements, including BAS hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate other facilities resources and serve as a liaison between BAS controls vendors and other divisional/departmental system coordinators.
• Make general database performance improvements, ensure data integrity, and eliminate superfluous data points.
• Assist in programming complex sequences.
• Advise less experienced programmers in development, testing, debugging, and revising programs.
• Provide guidance and act in a training and professional development capacity for less experienced BAS programmer analysts.
• Consult with departmental personnel for problem definition and sequence of operation programming requirements.
• Establish, administer, and maintain system security on all building automation systems.
• Develop security levels to enable appropriate user access for data updates.
