About The Position

As a Facilities Project Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for designing, planning, constructing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and buildings within PPG's manufacturing facilities to produce PPG coating products. You will plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications. These modifications will include estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs. To accomplish this, you will work with and oversee contractors, other operations and maintenance personnel, vendors, purchasing, and EHS. The goal of this collaboration is to assure a high level of achievement in safety, quality, and productivity. You will also help manage ongoing expense for facility maintenance, upkeep, and upgrades. This position is located in the Springdale, PA Development Center. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical) or equivalent engineering degree or certification required.
  • 3-5+ years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
  • Project/capital engineering experience in a chemical or resin manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent human relations skills and some labor relations knowledge; outstanding skill in communicating plants to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Possess problem solving skills and can conceptualize new systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Some weekend or evening work may be required when tasks cannot be completed during normal production hours.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and improve the site operational functionality and technical excellence.
  • Lead all CAP-Ex and repair projects, including construction, renovation, and technology improvements.
  • Balance an expense budget while managing a 5-year Cap-Ex budget.
  • Specify and direct order placement for equipment and services.
  • MOC, PHA, PSM Audit Action item closure.
  • Support audits/evaluations pertaining to ISO, PSM/OSHA, safety, and other internal audits/evaluations.
  • Coordinate/collaborate with production, maintenance, and other stakeholders regarding project scheduling and fulfillment to accomplish tasks.
  • Maintain sites three fleet vehicles.
