About The Position

We are seeking a Facilities Project Engineer Intern in our Broomfield, CO, location. All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. This internship offers the opportunity to create and implement project management solutions for facilities improvement and footprint projects, assist with change orders, participate in project meetings, and support facility planning efforts. The intern will also complete a capstone project and present recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree
  • Must be able to participate in an internship prior to completing current degree program
  • Graduating on/after 2027
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facilities Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Strong interest in facilities, construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project management.
  • Familiarity with Project Management principles and frameworks
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Power BI, or related platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to investigate issues and develop practical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement project management solutions to meet the evolving needs of our facilities improvement and footprint projects
  • Create and implement change order process from internal stakeholders. Assist in change orders from both internal teams and selected contractors for leadership approval.
  • Work alongside current Project Managers, Site Operations Managers, Facilities Technicians and engineers with planning and execution of facility improvement and infrastructure projects.
  • Participate in project meetings and document action items, schedules, and key decisions.
  • Assist with contractor coordination, site walks, and construction observation activities.
  • Develop project dashboards, metrics, and presentations for leadership review.
  • Support facility planning efforts, including space utilization, infrastructure upgrades, and capital project development.
  • Complete a capstone project and present recommendations and results to site and facilities leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
