The Facilities Project Engineer I plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes. Manages contracts and relationships with all contractors used in facilities related programs including but not limited to Janitorial, Security, Building Maintenance and Repair, Landscaping, Building Management System, etc. Has limited experience in a wide-range of facilities concepts and applications, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Project Lead). Be able to work with supervision on complex projects, but minimal supervision on regular tasks.
