About The Position

This role repairs, adjusts, and replaces all aspects of the facilities plumbing system, including waste-vent-water piping, valves, and the various fixtures and equipment served by this system that would normally be covered by the state plumbing code. This is a 1st Shift 7am to 3:30pm M-F schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or 2 years skilled trade or vocational school
  • Valid unencumbered Driver’s license
  • Two years’ plumbing experience within commercial, industrial or healthcare setting
  • General knowledge of building maintenance, and the use of tools and basic maintenance supplies
  • Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools (max. of 50 lbs)

Responsibilities

  • Work with local and state inspectors from the Water, Sewer, and Fire Departments
  • Repair or replace defective plumbing equipment
  • Coordinate functions of outside vendors and contractors as needed
  • Assist in the coordination of shutdowns of the various plumbing systems as needed
  • Receive work orders and coordinate work to fit daily schedule assigned by department director or designee
  • Maintain the facilities plumbing systems
  • Respond to emergency calls from facility departments requesting immediate assistance for plumbing system problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on related equipment assigned by the director or designee and reports deficiencies
  • Maintain necessary stock and tools in order to maintain, repair equipment
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Coordinate repairs to plumbing system with other departments
  • Install plumbing systems and accessories as necessary
  • Conduct daily rounds of building and related equipment as assigned
  • Respond to emergency call-in situations.
  • Report any deficiencies on specific jobs or equipment
  • Assist other trades as required
  • Assist with facilities emergency events per policy
  • Support and review the work of outside vendors
  • Maintain mechanicals spaces per Quality Assurance Program
  • Document work per department procedures
  • Must complete safety and technical training as assigned by department director or designee
  • Must wear appropriate PPE and other protective gear and equipment as required
