About The Position

The Facilities Planning Manager will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the Office of Space and Facilities Management of the National Cancer Institute within the National Institutes of Health. This role involves managing facilities planning logistics, implementing space management software, and ensuring adherence to architectural and building standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or four (4) years of specialized experience plus a high school diploma is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010 or later, Autodesk Revit and Microsoft office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for OSFM Facilities planning logistics program and NCI Frederick space management software implementation team.
  • Coordinate NCI OFSMs Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system, Planon.
  • Perform system programming, patching, and upgrades.
  • Monitor all system and subsystem integration points to confirm working connections.
  • Coordinate all required system linkages to any OSFM software applications.
  • Provide advice regarding various guidelines specified by the CAFM systems software.
  • Provide oversight of daily activities for onsite CAFM contract staff.
  • Conduct space surveys; discuss with and provide expert advice and guidance regarding what areas are to be surveyed and what types of information must be gathered.
  • Provide technical advice regarding various architectural standards which must be adhered to, such as those promulgated by the American Institute for Architecture (AIA), General Services Administration (GSA), various building codes, and plumbing and electrical regulations.
  • Review surveys submitted by contract staff, in conjunction with other appropriate staff members.
  • Ensure that all drawings follow appropriate standards and guidelines.
  • Resolve and correct any problems or deficiencies in architectural drawings and related information.
  • Review space inventory data within the CAFMS with particular focus on any changes in space allocation or usage; include any modifications, additions, or deletions.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure that space is assigned and used according to its original intent as well as the capabilities of the overall building structure and layout.
  • Provide training for NCI VisionFM power users and administrators.
  • Responsible for auditing and maintaining the data schema for NCI's organization hierarchy.
  • Update all route reports chosen by the senior staff for monitoring reporting.
  • Provide Crystal Reports with technical support and customization services for NCI staff.
