The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a safety and construction minded individual to join the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) Capital Planning team as a Facilities Planner 2 (FP2). The goal of a Facilities Planner 2 is to support public works projects that maintain and improve the facilities where staff work and individuals live. As a Facilities Planner 2, your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while supporting the Department of Corrections’ mission to enhance community safety, reduce victimization, and hold incarcerated individuals accountable through effective correctional programs and services. The candidate of choice will provide on-site construction administration, inspections, and quality assurance services for projects at MCC. This position serves as the agency’s on-site representative for public works projects and acts as the secondary construction administrator in support of Capital Planning & Development. The FP2 manages multiple concurrent projects across various phases of construction, coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure projects meet established plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. This position requires strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a complex operational environment.
