About The Position

The Facilities Operations Technician supports the safe, clean, and efficient functioning of all MedCura Health sites. This role performs routine maintenance, environmental safety tasks, and general facilities support across multiple locations. The Technician partners closely with the Director of Operations and the Safety & Risk Manager to ensure clinic environments remain compliant, secure, and operationally ready for staff and patients. This position may operate company vehicles in accordance with fleet policies and may serve as a peace officer when required to support site safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of experience in general maintenance, facilities support, building operations, or a related trade.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), as well as general repair practices.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required for operating company vehicles.
  • Experience completing routine inspections, documenting work orders, and maintaining maintenance logs.
  • Familiarity with safety practices, hazard identification, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), aligned procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and leadership regarding maintenance needs and safety concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a healthcare, school, commercial, or multi‑site environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting safety, security, or peace‑officer‑type duties (non‑law‑enforcement) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, windows, and equipment, including replacing switches, outlets, and light bulbs.
  • Inspect and clean air conditioning units periodically and complete routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, paper goods, and maintenance materials at all sites, requesting additional items as needed.
  • Blow and clear sidewalks and entryways; remove trash, wastepaper, leaves, and debris from roofs, gutters, and downspouts.
  • Build, adjust, and arrange furniture; set up rooms and sites for meetings, events, and operational needs.
  • Ensure building and grounds security during assigned shifts, including locking and unlocking doors and managing lighting.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment used in general maintenance work.
  • Inspect doors, windows, and facility areas for vandalism, safety hazards, or fire risks, and report concerns promptly.
  • Communicate with staff, administrators, and leadership regarding maintenance needs, facility concerns, and repair status.
  • Maintain accurate records related to preventative maintenance, supplies, mileage, work orders, vandalism, and hazardous waste.
  • Partner with the Safety & Risk Manager to complete monthly environmental rounds at each site.
  • Complete weekly routine maintenance checks for all MedCura Health locations.
  • Drive company vehicles to travel between sites, transport supplies, or complete maintenance tasks, following all fleet policies and safety requirements.
  • Report vehicle concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs immediately and maintain required fleet documentation.
  • Support the Safety & Risk Manager with tasks related to staff and clinic safety, including hazard identification and mitigation.
  • Serve as a peace officer when needed to support the safety and security of clinics, staff, and patients (non‑law‑enforcement, presence‑based safety role).
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including weather events, urgent repairs, or facility closures.
  • Coordinate with external vendors when maintenance or repair services are required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safe, compliant, and efficient clinic operations.
