About The Position

The Facilities Operations Technician II, in conjunction with the Repair & Maintenance Manager, is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of the site's building infrastructure and utility systems. This includes HVAC, purified water generation and distribution, plumbing, house vacuum systems, and building finishes. The shift is Sunday-Tuesday/Wednesday (rotating) 3pm-1:30am.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or trade school certification with 5+ years relevant experience Required or High School Diploma or equivalent with 7+ years relevant experience Required
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, equipment and high mechanical ability
  • Experience with VFD controllers, chillers, boilers, electrical circuits, air handlers, air conditioners, refrigeration systems and all general facility equipment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ability to function well in a team environment and ability to work independently and manager one's time.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory practices
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record Required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Environmental Health and Safety regulations and experience in a GMP enviroment (preferred)
  • Flexibility of working hours based on business needs, may include some nights and occasional weekends
  • Must be able to work a rotating on-call schedule (for weekends)

Responsibilities

  • Perform building plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, door and hardware, and general construction repairs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on facility and utility assets as scheduled in the CMMS and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program as directed by Management.
  • Perform routine facility inspections on the established schedule, documenting inspection findings, initiating work orders for identified deficiencies, and driving them to closure.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, exhaust systems, VFD controllers, and dampers.
  • Maintain and support the purified water generation, storage, and distribution system, including pretreatment, pumps, valves, sanitization cycles, and associated points of use.
  • Coordinate scheduled work with department heads and Production planning to minimize downtime and production delay.
  • Respond to facility and utility alarms and emergency conditions and perform initial troubleshooting and containment.
