About The Position

The Facilities Operations Manager - Data Center is responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and operation of the physical infrastructure supporting the Data Center and Commons facilities. This role oversees critical systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, building automation, and general facility infrastructure while ensuring compliance with healthcare and regulatory requirements. The manager leads a team of six employees, oversees preventive maintenance programs, manages operating and capital budgets, and supports infrastructure planning and equipment lifecycle management. This position is focused on facilities operations and critical infrastructure reliability and does not manage IT systems or network operations.

Requirements

  • Facilities management, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or engineering experience
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Experience managing budgets and capital projects
  • Knowledge of TJC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA standards
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5-10 years experience
  • < 2 years supervisor experience

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all activities relating to technical guidance for planning, budgeting, designing, directing, maintaining and monitoring of information systems operations on multiple technical platforms.
  • Responsible for defining standards and measures for quality and customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Hires, terminates, appraises performance or strongly recommends such personnel actions for technical staff in a large, multi-site work environment.
  • Develops and manages Operating and Capital budgets.
  • Defines, documents, implements and communicates policies, procedures, standards and guidelines to staff.
  • Prepares operational cost estimates for current and proposed projects.
  • Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments, provides direction and monitors work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Participates in managing client and supplier relationships.
  • Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of hardware and software.
  • May manage individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans to ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet and, or, support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
