About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a 5-month contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer will support HVAC design, system commissioning, and Building Management System controls. This role includes preparing engineering packages, calculating heating and cooling loads, programming sequences of operation, and validating final system performance. The position also supports facility planning, design coordination, cost estimating, construction documentation, and inspection of construction or installation progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineer role involving HVAC design.
  • 5+ years of experience with Building Management Systems.
  • Experience delivering engineering packages, including cooling and heating load calculations, sequences of operation, and final system performance validation.
  • Experience planning, designing, and overseeing reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, or other facilities.
  • Ability to gather and review facility or equipment specifications, restrictions, completion requirements, and construction feasibility.
  • Ability to coordinate with architecture and engineering firms on design criteria, layout drawings, and detail drawings.
  • Ability to prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
  • Ability to review and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and related costs.
  • Ability to inspect or direct inspection of construction and installation progress.
