The Facilities Mechanical and Controls Engineer based in Santa Clara, California, will serve as the Technical Subject Matter Expert, providing leadership and expertise to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of all mechanical, HVAC, and control systems within critical environments, laboratories, and other facilities. This individual will leverage their extensive field experience to mentor and collaborate with other engineers, serve as the system owner, and manage the health and performance of equipment by overseeing the work of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) partners and external vendors. While this role transitions away from hands-on equipment work, the candidate will utilize their technical expertise to direct, oversee, and ensure adherence to high standards in equipment operation and maintenance. This role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities. Ensures availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems (e.g., oil free air systems, HVAC systems, chilled water plant, boilers, environmental abatement systems, and environmental compliance exhaust) to support manufacturing, clean room, and research and development activities. Supports daily tactical efforts in safety, reliability, and environmental objectives of facilities mechanical systems. Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging and troubleshoots mechanical systems systematic issues and provides evaluation, recommendations, and solutions to resolve problems.
