Facilities Mechanic
About The Position
A facilities mechanic is responsible for the duties necessary to help keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. This includes, but not limited, to the completion of minor maintenance repairs and other primary functions. A facilities mechanic performs essential duties such as aiding in the performance of urgent, corrective repairs of minor problems related to electrical and plumbing systems, assisting in the replacing and repairing of equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required, maintaining routine records of all repairs, completing preventive maintenance on a continuous basis to ensure continuous operation of the facility, completing manual duties as requested, such as moving supplies, replacing light bulbs, locks, doors, etc., maintaining facilities according to regulatory requirements, and assisting in ensuring facilities are properly maintained, painting walls and/or equipment and making minor painting repairs.
Requirements
- 2 years of job-related experience
- High school diploma
- Knowledge in the preventive maintenance practices and schedules to ensure repairs are properly maintained and operational
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery that may be needed for repairs
- Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to facility maintenance
- The ability to identify, analyze, and solve any complex facility maintenance issues
Responsibilities
- Aids in the performance of urgent, corrective repairs of minor problems related to electrical and plumbing systems
- Assists in the replacing and repairing of equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required
- Maintains routine records of all repairs
- Completes preventive maintenance on a continuous basis to ensure continues operation of the facility
- Completes manual duties as requested, such as moving supplies, replacing light bulbs, locks, doors, etc.
- Maintains facilities according to regulatory requirements
- Assist in the insurance facilities are properly maintained, paint walls and/or equipment and make minor painting
