About The Position

This role manages the assigned hospital campus and assists with overseeing facilities operations, managing budgets, directing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies, managing risk, managing construction/contractors, and conducting site inspections. The manager assists with directing the Facilities department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in a job-related field, or a trade license, or Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) certification required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of healthcare facilities management experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Excellent personnel skills, critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, good physical condition and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with Administrative staff, Directors, Managers and the ability to work with and lead a highly diverse team.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED may be substituted with five (5) years of healthcare facilities experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Sources and manages outside vendors and service providers including, but not limited to, maintenance contracts, grounds keeping, facility and/or system inspections and certifications, etc.
  • Manages all routine maintenance for all utilities as required by Joint Commission and AHCA.
  • Assists with management of the safety program to reduce risk of injury for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Responds to all emergencies related to utilities that affect hospital systems.
  • Manages and evaluates departmental operations, including, service level determination and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Acts as a project manager and schedules, monitors, and inspects work provided by in house craftsman and outside contractors to ensure work meets appropriate standards.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Manages all the Construction Projects, attends meetings, and coordinates all hospital shutdowns.
  • Evaluates trend analysis on all equipment fault times.
