About The Position

This is a Temporary to Permanent Hire position. This is a General Maintenance and Repairs position that is directed by the Controller. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for receiving and assessing work orders, determining if repairs can be handled in-house or outsourced, creating preventative maintenance schedules, conducting daily facility walk-throughs, managing supplies, performing various repairs and maintenance tasks, and attending events. The role also includes on-call responsibilities for maintenance emergencies and conducting regular facility inspections.

Requirements

  • Must attend all fundraising, special events, and Board Meetings as requested.
  • If on call, respond to any maintenance emergencies after regular business hours that may result in danger to clients or team members or may result in further damage to facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders and documents when completed.
  • Assess repairs and determine if they can be repaired in-house. If repairs need to be outsourced, then provide at least three bids for consideration. This will result in creating a list of vendors for future repairs.
  • Create a preventative maintenance schedule for each house.
  • Daily walk-through of all facilities and the basement to ensure and maintain safe and hazard-free grounds.
  • Submit a list of supplies and materials to be purchased to the Facilities Administrator for approval.
  • Change light bulbs in all facilities as needed in a timely manner.
  • Change A/C filters in all facilities monthly, including off-site locations.
  • Always keep all areas neat in appearance.
  • Replace/repair broken decorations, fixtures, toys, furniture, etc., in all facilities as needed.
  • Caulk and repaint the exterior/interior of both buildings as shifting/movement occurs.
  • Unclog drains, toilets, and repair minor plumbing problems.
  • Daily trash removal from Davidson Respite House (DRH) playground to dumpster.
  • Ensure the sprinkler system is working properly and runs at the appropriate time. Replace broken sprinkler heads.
  • Perform basic repair on washer/dryer. Notify Facilities Administrator if further repair is needed.
  • Replace doorknobs, re-attach gates on main house stairs, and perform basic sheet rock repair and paint as necessary.
  • Attend all fundraising, special events, and Board Meetings as requested.
  • If on call, respond to any maintenance emergencies after regular business hours that may result in danger to clients or team members or may result in further damage to facilities. Contact the Facilities Administrator if any further information is needed.
  • Do a bi-monthly facility inspection of the daycare site and Mother’s Day Out (MDO) using the provided checklist.
  • Do a daily DRH playground safety inspection with the provided checklist.
  • Submit a bi-annual mileage report for each vehicle to the Facilities Administrator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
