About The Position

The Facilities Management Director is responsible for managing staff and employee performance, resolving HR-related issues, determining staffing needs, interviewing and hiring staff. This role provides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency, and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. The Director also determines disciplinary, termination, and salary actions, monitors workflow, and develops short and long-term goals and objectives. They analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints to guide hospital leadership in meeting facilities and operational objectives. Additionally, the role involves establishing and administering policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines, identifying and implementing projects in consultation with senior administration, monitoring project status, and assigning project areas. The Director plans, administers, and monitors departmental budgets, regularly reviews expenditures, and takes corrective action as necessary.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering or related field and seven years experience in engineering environment with supervisory experience, or ten years experience without a degree.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is highly preferred.
  • May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (Georgia) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff and employee performance.
  • Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff.
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.
  • Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions.
  • Monitors workflow.
  • Develops short and long term goals and objectives; analyzes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and constraints to give direction to hospitals' leadership in working toward meeting facilities and operational objectives.
  • Establishes and administers policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines; reviews, revises, and communicates them to ensure compliance.
  • Identifies, implements, and determines the scope of projects in consultation with senior administration.
  • Monitors status of projects, adjusts schedules and priorities when necessary.
  • Assigns project areas and manages short and long term projects.
  • Plans, administers and monitors the department's capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets; regularly reviews year to date and prior budget expenditures; and takes corrective action as necessary.
