About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance position maintains a safe environment by repairing fixtures and equipment and performing routine maintenance and cleaning. The role handles basic repairs across several trades, conducts inspections, addresses maintenance needs, cleans as needed, orders supplies or parts, assembles equipment, and completes installations. Employees must recognize the limits of their expertise and request a licensed professional when required by lack of expertise or local ordinance. The role has no direct supervisory responsibilities and may require local travel during the business day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years' experience in a maintenance position.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, community leaders, and grieving client families.
• Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
• Professional and courteous manner in accordance with employer requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs requiring basic electrician, carpenter, plumber, mechanic, painter, HVAC technician, and roofer skills.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify areas needing attention and complete maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and air conditioner filters, repairing locks, flooring, gates, parking lots, and fences.
• Perform cleaning as needed, including cleaning after water pipe bursts and heavy-duty cleaning such as shampooing carpets, waxing floors, and cleaning hard-to-reach light fixtures.
• Order supplies or parts.
• Assemble new equipment and install items such as bulletin boards and drapes.
• Attend and perform work in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with employer requirements.
• Participate in growing market share through community involvement.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, community leaders, and grieving client families; handle complaints tactfully and professionally.
• Maintain a positive work environment through organization and communication, and manage multiple projects by prioritizing tasks and exercising good judgment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
