About The Position

The City of Gahanna is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker II to perform multiple functions including emergency repair, general maintenance, and preventive maintenance in the new Civic Center. This position will be responsible for gathering first-hand knowledge from contractors, designers, architects, and systems specialists on operations of facility systems including HVAC, electric, and plumbing. This position is a full-time, hourly, classified position with the Department of Public Service. This position is subject to Gahanna Civil Service Commission rules and testing. The civil service examination for this position will be a training and experience evaluation. Your application will be used for the training and evaluation scoring. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of building construction and/or building trades experience.
• Current and valid Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of skilled maintenance work both inside and outside of City buildings.
• Performing multiple functions that are essential to the operations of the City including emergency repair, general maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
