About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Trainee for a full-time, first-shift position. This role involves building, repairing, and installing various facility fixtures, performing safety inspections, assisting with store displays and floor moves, and conducting daily maintenance on amusement rides and simulators. You will also support outside service companies with facility systems and be knowledgeable about all equipment and tools. The ideal candidate will be a good teammate, able to work independently, and possess the physical ability to perform maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Minimum of an associate’s degree from a 2-year college or technical school, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possess the physical ability to perform the tasks of a maintenance associate.
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Build, repair, and install facility fixtures, cabinetry, flooring, wall coverings, windows, doors, and partitions.
Conduct safety inspections on the sales floor and throughout the store.
Assist with floor moves, building of displays, and other miscellaneous retail floor duties.
Perform daily inspection and maintenance of all amusement rides, attractions, and simulators.
Assist outside service companies and vendors with facility systems such as escalators, elevators, HVAC, boilers, irrigation, sprinklers, generators, aquariums, restaurant equipment, and landscaping.
Be knowledgeable of all equipment and tools and how to use them properly.
Assist other associates with any task as necessary.
Perform the tasks of a maintenance associate.
Work independently and problem-solve.
