About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will operate and maintain Waste Water treatment and building HVAC systems. This role involves maintaining compressor systems and chilled water systems, as well as repairing and maintaining building electrical and plumbing systems. The technician will respond to emergency repair requests, assist with equipment relocation and installation, and ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures, including safety guards, Authorized Lockout/Tagout, and confined space entry. The position requires setting an example for compliance and safety, driving continuous improvement, and communicating any issues affecting Environment, Health, Safety, or Quality to management. The role is primarily first shift but may require occasional extended hours or off-shift work. Responsibilities include documenting work in the current work order system, looking up parts via equipment manuals and SAP, and ordering necessary parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, courses and certifications in industrial or mechanical technologies, or post-secondary technical training, maintenance mechanic training, or equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience (minimum 2 years experience).
  • Excellent communication and motor skills

  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel
  • Ability to move/push +40lbs.
  • Good or corrected vision and hearing
  • Ability to work well with others

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain Waste Water treatment and building HVAC systems.

  • Understand and employ all required safety guards and devices.
  • Utilize proper Authorized Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
  • Comply with confined space entry program.
  • Sets the example of compliance and safety issues.
  • Drives continuous improvement in quality and safety.
  • Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager.
  • Document work in our current work order system.
  • Look up parts via equipment manual and SAP system.
  • Order parts needed by filling out proper part request forms.
