Facilities Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

Requirements

Must have been in their current position 90 days to transfer to another shift, line, or department; no time in seat requirement for demotions on the same shift
No more than 4 occurrence points
No more than two (2) written warnings in the last 12 months
Willing and able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
Willing and able to stand for 8 – 12 hours per day on hard floors in extreme hot or cold environments ranging from 30 to 120 degrees
Basic computer skills in order to complete required training and/or tasks
Ability to identify parts and supplies needed to complete job tasks
Ability to verbally communicate material effectively in a training environment
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical maintenance on all production equipment including ovens, freezers, cartoners, wrappers and all other manufacturing systems plant wide
Maintain proper housekeeping in work area as well as keep equipment clean and orderly at all times
Maintain all required records
Observe and promote all Plant Safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Perform all preventive maintenance including lubrication, adjustment, rebuilding, scheduled service, cleaning and assisting operator on change over
