About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and understanding the basic functions of Facilities Maintenance, including light electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks. The technician will complete assigned jobs in a timely fashion, perform security duties and fire watches as needed, and be responsible for punctuality and the ability to work independently or in a group. The position involves maintaining the historic nature of Timberline Lodge and ensuring operations comply with governmental agency guidelines while minimizing environmental impact. This includes participating in ongoing training, completing work orders, and performing various repair and maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Must have excellent initiative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to track, document and be held accountable for activities.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Facilities Maintenance techniques.
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
  • Must have basic knowledge of light electrical, plumbing and mechanical functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 1-3 yr. Facility Maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks essential for maintaining & repairing Timberline Lodge’s historic nature and ability to operate in accordance with all governmental agency guidelines making as small of an environmental impact as possible.
  • Perform security duties and fire watches as needed.
  • Participate in on-going educational and training programs.
  • Completion and sign off of work orders.
  • Light fixture repairs and replace ballasts.
  • Use multi meter to test circuits.
  • Troubleshoot room heating systems.
  • Locate sprinkler valves and drain points.
  • Basic locksmithing.
  • Painting
  • Drywall repairs and installation.
  • Operate and maintain all boilers.
  • Clean and service grease traps.
  • Build & finish projects to USFS specs.
  • Identify and select proper surface finishes.
  • Identify and select proper finishing tools for different type of finishes.
  • Prepare surface and site properly for finishing including but not limited to; sanding, caulking and covering exposed surfaces.
  • Clean and store paint materials according to manufactures specs and OSHA regulations.
  • Soldering and pipe fitting up to 1".
  • Other duties as assigned by Department and Timberline management.
  • Obtain and maintain Basic First Aid/CPR/AED training.
  • Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
  • Be familiar with Timberline Lodge and Ski Area information and communication network.
  • Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
  • Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
  • Present a professional, quality image at all times.
