About The Position

Volt is hiring for a 1st Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician for a leading manufacturing facility in Hayward, CA. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will lead, supervise, and mentor maintenance technicians in daily repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities. You will coordinate and prioritize maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment, and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment. You will also diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, VFDs (drives), and electrical systems, and inspect, test, and evaluate machinery to identify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards is crucial. The role includes reviewing blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and maintenance manuals, managing maintenance work orders, inventory, parts procurement, and maintenance documentation, and supporting facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and new equipment installations. Compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and preventive maintenance programs is required. You will also train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel and collaborate with production and management teams to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or production environments
  • Strong experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting, VFDs (drives), motor controls, and industrial automation equipment
  • Experience rebuilding pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and technician workloads
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance machinery

Nice To Haves

  • Welding, fabrication, HVAC, or plumbing experience is a plus
