About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for prioritizing, planning, and completing assigned facility maintenance tasks, equipment repairs, and replacements in a timely manner. This role involves inspecting, monitoring, and performing required testing on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire, safety, security, and mechanical equipment. The technician will maintain computerized maintenance programs and building automation systems, conduct routine safety inspections, life safety testing, and regulatory compliance activities. They will also coordinate and oversee outside contractors, preventative maintenance services, inspections, and repair projects. Daily facility walkthroughs and grounds inspections are part of the role, along with assisting with emergency on-call maintenance needs, snow removal, and weather-related facility responses. Support for facility operations includes room setup, event support, supply distribution, and departmental coordination. Collaboration with Facilities Management on maintenance planning, budgeting, safety compliance, and improvement projects is essential. The technician will maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, certifications, and compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate, have GED, or have trade school diploma.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle are required
  • Computer Maintenance Management Software experience required
  • Able to lift 40 pounds and climb a small ladder or utilize a step stool
  • Must be vaccinated for influenza or be granted a religious/medical exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of maintenance technician experience preferred
  • EPA Section 608 certification preferred

Responsibilities
