About The Position

In this hands-on facilities and maintenance role, you’ll be the go-to problem solver keeping our shops, equipment, and buildings operating safely and efficiently. From troubleshooting repairs and coordinating specialized trades to supporting new equipment installs and facility upkeep, this is a high-impact role for someone who likes variety, ownership, and seeing the direct results of their work every day.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in facility maintenance with a strong background in vendor management or project coordination.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals to effectively communicate with specialized tradespeople.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills for managing contractor relationships and reporting to management.
  • Strong ability to juggle multiple work orders and track the progress of various ongoing subcontractor projects.
  • Proficiency in CMMS or work-order tracking software to document the lifecycle of every repair.

Responsibilities

  • Repair equipment, hang signage, fix door hardware/locks, and perform drywall patching or painting.
  • Conduct daily or weekly facility audits to catch emerging maintenance needs before they become emergencies.
  • Oversee or perform upkeep of the building exterior, including lighting checks, debris removal, and minor signage repair.
  • Conduct routine testing of fire extinguishers, exit signs, and emergency lighting.
  • Address "handyman" level tasks such as hanging blinds, adjusting office layouts, and mounting equipment.
  • Identify and source the specific components needed for both in-house repairs and for parts requested by contractors.
  • Maintain a database of reliable subcontractors and material suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
  • Monitor maintenance spending and assist in the approval process for high-cost specialized repairs.
  • Maintain owner’s manuals and maintenance records for each piece of equipment in the facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment in multiple facilities.
  • Repair equipment and small tools.
  • Coordinate new equipment installations including power and utilities
  • Perform miscellaneous welding and fabrication of fixtures, tables etc.
  • Keep an organized inventory of common consumables (filters, bulbs, hardware) to ensure zero downtime for basic fixes.
  • Perform the first assessment of any facility failure to determine if the fix is a general repair or requires a specialized subcontractor.
  • Identify the location and scope of issues within the electrical grid, plumbing lines, or HVAC systems to provide clear data to incoming specialists.
  • Assist subcontractors by providing access to mechanical rooms, explaining system history, and reviewing blueprints/schematics with them.
  • Contact and schedule vetted electrical, plumbing, and HVAC contractors for specialized repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Define the specific needs for each service call to ensure contractors arrive with the correct equipment and expectations.
  • Monitor onsite contractors to ensure they adhere to building safety protocols and complete the work as described in the contract.
  • Inspect completed subcontractor work to ensure it meets quality standards and local building codes before signing off.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
