About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong, diverse background in multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration, with proven experience in executing both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks across a commercial or industrial facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, functionality, and operational efficiency of our multi-site buildings and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field, demonstrating proficiency across multiple disciplines (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration).
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and controls.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, repair, and safety procedures (up to 480V systems preferred).
  • Solid understanding of commercial plumbing systems, including pipefitting and drain cleaning.
  • Aptitude for reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions and environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical certification in a related trade (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) is highly preferred.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment, including but not limited to: HVAC/Refrigeration: Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, cooling towers, and commercial refrigeration units. This includes filter changes, coil cleaning, refrigerant handling (if certified), and component replacement.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including lighting, ballasts, switches, outlets, motor controls, and low-voltage systems. Perform basic wiring and circuit testing following established safety protocols.
  • Address plumbing repairs such as leaking fixtures, unclogging drains, repairing or replacing pipes and fittings, and maintaining water supply systems and backflow preventers.
  • Develop and strictly adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule for all critical facility assets to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and emergency calls to troubleshoot and repair immediate operational and safety issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations (e.g., OSHA), and company safety standards. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Execute general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and other miscellaneous repairs as needed to maintain the appearance and structure of the facility.
  • Assist with managing the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring critical items are readily available.
