About The Position

The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained condition of Living Water Clinic – Clínica Agua Viva facilities, grounds, vehicles, trailers, and mobile medical and dental clinics. This position performs a wide variety of general maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, groundskeeping, facility improvement, and operational support duties across clinic locations. The technician is expected to proactively identify maintenance needs, address issues within their training and authorized scope, communicate and document completed work, and promptly escalate work requiring licensed or specialized professional services. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, organized, trustworthy, adaptable, and able to work independently while remaining accountable to management. Because this position works in healthcare environments, the employee must understand the importance of cleanliness, infection control, patient privacy, minimizing disruptions to patient care, and maintaining a professional and respectful presence around patients, providers, and staff. Employees are also expected to respect and support Living Water Clinic – Clínica Agua Viva’s Christian mission and workplace culture.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, handyman services, building maintenance, or a related field.
Experience working in a healthcare, medical, dental, commercial, or multi-site facility environment.
Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, landscaping, or general repairs.
Experience towing and maneuvering trailers.
Experience maintaining mobile clinics, trailers, vehicles, or similar mobile units.

Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance and repairs within authorized skill and safety limits.
Perform carpentry, drywall repair, minor framing, patching, caulking, painting, staining, and related repairs.
Assist with renovations, facility improvement projects, and general repairs.
Install or replace flooring, baseboards, shelving, cabinets, vanities, fixtures, thresholds, and similar items.
Repair, assemble, modify, and install furniture and equipment.
Hang, adjust, lubricate, repair, stain, and paint doors.
Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, saws, and other maintenance equipment.
Recognize when a repair is outside the employee’s training, authorization, or scope and promptly notify management.
Perform basic, non-licensed plumbing troubleshooting and repairs within authorized scope.
Repair or replace accessible plumbing components such as sinks, faucets, toilets, supply lines, and related fixtures.
Address minor clogs, slow drains, and accessible leaks when safely permitted.
Perform basic irrigation and sprinkler repairs.
Perform minor electrical maintenance within authorized scope, including basic work involving lights, switches, outlets/GFCIs, and fixtures.
Maintain interior and exterior lighting.
Replace HVAC and mini-split filters and perform basic preventive maintenance.
Monitor HVAC systems for unusual sounds, temperatures, leaks, or performance concerns.
Identify and escalate electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical issues requiring licensed or specialized service.
Perform routine landscaping, trimming, weed removal, debris removal, and general groundskeeping.
Pressure wash and clean exterior areas as needed.
Inspect and clean accessible gutters when safe and authorized.
Conduct basic roof inspections and report damage, leaks, or deterioration.
Perform minor exterior sealing and caulking.
Inspect parking lots, walkways, signage, irrigation, exterior lighting, and building exteriors.
Safely operate ladders, landscaping equipment, saws, and chainsaws when properly trained and authorized.
Maintain grounds and exterior areas in a safe, clean, and professional condition.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Safely operate company maintenance vehicles.
Transport equipment, furniture, tools, materials, and supplies between clinic locations.
Safely connect, tow, maneuver, back, and park utility trailers when properly trained and authorized.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining mobile medical and dental clinics.
Perform minor mobile-clinic repairs involving seals, filters, hardware, fixtures, and general upkeep.
Assist with basic routine vehicle and mobile-unit maintenance when trained and authorized.
Inspect mobile clinics and trailers for visible maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
Report vehicle, trailer, or mobile-unit issues requiring professional repair.
Conduct scheduled facility walkthroughs and preventive maintenance inspections.
Proactively identify leaks, moisture, damage, deterioration, safety hazards, and needed repairs.
Inspect doors, locks, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, roofs, grounds, flooring, fixtures, and general building conditions.
Maintain clear exits, walkways, and access areas.
Respond appropriately to urgent facility issues, including leaks, HVAC failures, broken doors or locks, flooding, electrical concerns, and other building emergencies.
Follow applicable PPE, ladder, fall-protection, tool, chemical, equipment-safety, and workplace safety requirements.
Document and escalate conditions that cannot be safely or appropriately corrected in-house.
Assist with maintenance inventory and ordering.
Maintain appropriate supplies of PPE, tools, filters, hardware, plumbing and electrical supplies, paint, cleaning products, and commonly used maintenance materials.
Identify supply shortages before materials are depleted.
Prepare material and supply lists for upcoming projects.
Pick up and deliver approved materials and supplies.
Maintain organized maintenance vehicles, storage areas, tools, and equipment.
Assist with clinic moves and relocations.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and other materials as needed.
Assist with deliveries, supply runs, storage organization, event setup and tear-down.
Provide reasonable cleaning and janitorial assistance when operationally necessary.
Support daily logistics between clinic locations.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with supervisors, providers, staff, patients, and other members of the community.
Provide timely updates regarding work location, progress, delays, completion, and materials needed.
Use photographs, maintenance logs, checklists, work orders, and task-management systems to document work.
Clearly communicate problems requiring additional attention or professional service.
Work independently while remaining accountable to management.
Ask questions whenever instructions, expectations, safety requirements, or the appropriate scope of work are unclear.
Minimize dust, debris, noise, odors, and disruptions in patient-care areas.
Coordinate work that may interfere with patient care or clinic operations.

Maintain clean and organized work areas.
