Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of facilities maintenance or related experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical systems, drywall repair, and painting
  • Basic fabrication skills (cutting, assembling, modifying materials)
  • General knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs)
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HVAC systems (troubleshooting or light maintenance)
  • Forklift or equipment operation experience (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with Maximo or maintenance tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventative maintenance and repairs across building systems and equipment
  • Troubleshooting and fixing plumbing issues (leaks, fixtures, piping)
  • Handling basic electrical work (outlets, switches, lighting, minor wiring)
  • Completing drywall repairs, patching, and painting to keep the facility looking its best
  • Supporting carpentry and light fabrication projects
  • Assisting with installation and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
  • Responding quickly to maintenance requests and work orders
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
  • Partnering with vendors and contractors when needed
  • Meeting compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
