About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is facility preventative maintenance, repair, and custodial duties and to work as a cross functional team member with department associates. This role involves responding to and prioritizing requests, inspecting and caring for buildings and equipment, performing minor repairs (HVAC, painting, carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing), scheduling and working with contractors, installing modular offices, maintaining office furniture, safely using tools, inventorying parts and supplies, performing snow removal, serving on the Safety Committee, promoting safe work practices, focusing on continuous improvement, operating a forklift, and complying with all company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Maintains forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and prioritize requests from JEM associates for department or individual assistance.
  • Inspect and care for interior and exterior of buildings and other structures to determine needed maintenance and repairs.
  • Clean machining equipment using cleaning solvents, cloths, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Complete minor HVAC, painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Inspect and care for equipment to determine needed maintenance and repair.
  • Perform electrical maintenance, such as replacing and repairing electrical fixtures.
  • Perform plumbing maintenance, such as replacing and repairing leaking faucets.
  • Schedule and work with contractors, including electricians and plumbers, on a routine and emergency basis.
  • Install modular offices to accommodate JEM associates.
  • Inspect and care for office furniture on a regular basis.
  • Safely use and maintain appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Inventory machine parts and supplies.
  • Purchase hardware, tools, and other supplies within budget.
  • Remove snow and add salt to entrances and exits of JEM facilities during the winter.
  • Serve as a key member of the Safety Committee.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout JEM.
  • Provide updates and training to JEM associates regarding safe work practices.
  • Focus on continuous improvement in the areas of facilities maintenance.
  • Safely operate forklift.
  • Comply with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements.
  • Support JEM’s mission and exemplify JEM’s core values daily.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
