About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Tech level 4 is depended on to solve facility related issues and have a positive impact on identifying and correcting root causes. This associate may work as a mentor for some of the maintenance disciplines within their core responsibilities. This associate may be called upon to communicate with plant leadership as part of a team effort to give project or facility problem status updates when needed. This associate also has a deep understanding of internal and external customer service and can lead the rest of the group in customer service improvements and philosophy. They continuously have a positive impact on departmental goals. This associate exhibits strong communication skills and is recognized and called upon to be a resource for plant issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of applicable maintenance experience.
  • 2 year technical degree is equivalent to 1 year experience
  • 4 year degree is equivalent to 2 years experience.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to operate and successfully complete the Swagelok internal Powered Industrial Equipment training.

Responsibilities

  • Operates powered industrial equipment such as scissor list, forklift, floor scrubber, overhead crane and hoist.
  • Ability to test Building Fire Suppression System and performs months extinguisher inspections
  • Submits supply orders
  • Understands contractor management and provides safety and policy oversight to contractors
  • Provide luncheon and meeting set up support
  • Has a basic understanding of rigging principles
  • Utilizes blueprints to complete work orders
  • Recommends changes Swagelok standard work, such as lockout / tag out, compressed gas, and proper fall protection programs based on changing requirements and needs
  • Is knowledgeable about and follows the confined space requirements
  • Trains other facility maintenance associates on Swagelok policies and procedures
  • Supports, applies, and encourages compliance with security and emergency related systems
  • Diagnoses and corrects HVAC systems
  • Identifies the root cause of Plumbing, Maintenance, and Building Systems problems and makes recommendations.
  • Makes recommendations to Contractor Management policies
  • Designs carpentry and sheet metal work
  • Completes large electrical, welding and millwork projects without assistance
  • Assists in establishing LEAN standards
  • Has become proficient and knowledgeable in Environmental and Safety guidelines.
  • Independently completes maintenance and preventative maintenance activities related to building support
  • Determines the need for contractors, gets quotes, schedules jobs, follows up as needed, and verifies completion.
  • Experienced in basic fabrication, electrical, plumbing and pipe fitting.
  • Understands change management guidelines (SIS)
  • Leads small to medium size projects.
  • Accurately records processes and procedures
  • Intermediate user of Tabware.
  • Reads electrical prints and replaces contacts, fuses, motors and relays with minimal assistance.
  • Leads shift start-up meetings.
  • Has an understanding of the lean toolbox (i.e. 5S, CEDAC, Standard Work, etc)
