About The Position

PECNA is looking to fill the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician I. The main responsibility for this position is to ensure that the condition of our manufacturing areas meets or exceeds the standards required to create our lithium-ion cells. This role involves performing routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs, and preventative/predictive maintenance on facilities equipment with direct supervision. The technician will also assist in managing vendors and contractors, detecting faulty operations, and responding rapidly to maintenance needs throughout the factory. Regular interface with Facilities Workplace, Engineering and Construction, and other work groups is expected. The role requires maintaining appropriate work-related records, adhering to safety policies, and utilizing a CMMS for documentation. Basic skills in electrical & mechanical equipment and components are necessary, including systems such as Compressed Air, Electrical, High Pressure Compressed Air, Exhaust, Dry Air, Dust collection, Process Vacuum, Nitrogen, Deionized water, Process Cooling Water, Hot Reverse Osmosis Water, and nMP and electrolyte. Developing skills in at least one mechanical/technical construction trade (Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, HVAC Mechanic highly preferred) are also required. The position involves using hand-held measuring devices, basic Microsoft Office Suite skills, reading and editing blueprints, and drafting/approving/following Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP). Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders is also a key part of the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related work experience; industrial manufacturing facilities preferred
  • Basic knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC in an industrial manufacturing facility environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
  • PIT License
  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs using standard equipment and hand tools with direct supervision.
  • Performs well defined preventative & predictive maintenance on facilities equipment with direct supervision
  • Basic understanding of how to manage vendors and contractors and ensure they adhere to work rules set forth by PENA with direct supervision
  • Basic knowledge to detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • First Responder. Be able to move rapidly through the factory to any of the manufacturing areas that may require a maintenance response.
  • Be able to assess a utility outage and take corrective measures needed to rectify situation.
  • Regularly interfaces with Facilities Workplace, Engineering and Construction and other work groups
  • Maintains appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) checklists
  • Adheres to all safety and company policies, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Utilizes CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting
  • Basic skills and abilities of electrical & mechanical equipment and components including but not limited to the following systems: Compressed Air, Electrical, High Pressure Compressed Air, Exhaust, Dry Air, Dust collection, Process Vacuum, Nitrogen, Deionized water, Process Cooling Water, Hot Reverse Osmosis Water, nMP and electrolyte.
  • Must be developing in at least one mechanical/technical construction trade: Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, HVAC Mechanic highly preferred.
  • Basic understanding in the use of hand-held measuring devices, take readings for dew point, temperature, relative humidity, air flow, ampacity, pressure, and particulates.
  • Must possess basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Be able to read and edit blueprints.
  • Be able to draft, approve, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP)
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
