About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician I. The Facilities Maintenance Technician I reports to the Facilities Operations Superintendent and will work at Gilbert's new Advocacy Center. The primary functions of this position include: Install, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems and equipment. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance across Town facilities, grounds, and parks — identifying issues early and coordinating repairs or replacements. Operate and maintain a variety of medium and heavy equipment, utility vehicles, and specialized diagnostic tools. Partner with contractors, vendors, and customers to resolve maintenance issues and coordinate resources. Track and manage daily work orders through the Town's Lucity software system, and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed. This is an FLSA Non-Exempt, at-will position with the Town of Gilbert.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • One to three years of experience and/or training in building maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor (or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License
  • May require possession of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal License
  • Pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
