About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Tech will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Building Bridges’ facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff, partners, program participants, and visitors. Duties include performing routine maintenance, minor repairs, inspections, grounds, and supporting event setup. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, able to troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete tasks efficiently while working collaboratively with the facilities team.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related fields preferred.
3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, cleaning, building repair, or a related trade.
Ability to perform hands-on work including lifting, climbing, and operating tools and equipment safely.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills and professionalism when interacting with staff, partners, vendors, and visitors.
Must be available to work weekends, Saturday and Sundays.
Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs including changing light bulbs, drywall, painting, and general building upkeep.
Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and building code violations.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime.
Ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment, included but not limited to trash pick up, ground maintenance, snow removal, stripping and waxing floors etc.
Assist with facility setup, event preparation, and breakdown as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, supplies, and equipment.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and service.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
