About The Position

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician you are responsible for general office/facility maintenance as well as some transportation needs. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will execute tasks performed within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the applicable health and safety standards required by law.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of related experience
  • Current Driver's License
  • Ability to use MS Office
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.
  • Working knowledge and ability to perform basic skills including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall.
  • Customer service oriented and good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work within a team and a sense of organization.
  • Experienced painter.

Responsibilities

  • General facility up-keep and maintenance which may include but not limited to daily trash disposal, supply restock, replacement of non-working or damaged items (i.e. lights, bulbs, ceiling tiles).
  • General up-keep and maintenance of the facility perimeter which may include but not limited to parking lot daily dust and leaf blowing, verifying roof for leaks, window cleaning, and ensuring the sprinkler system is in working order.
  • General up-keep, painting and repairs of damaged walls in all building spaces. Some places may require working outside of regular business hours.
  • Assist the electromechanics with repairs, test and maintenance.
  • Moving various furniture or office supplies.
  • Assignment of keys to employees.
  • Filling hand sanitizers.
  • Install wall frames.
  • Maintenance of vents.
  • Place service calls and escort and facilitate or assist in the facilitation of contractor(s) and service calls.
  • May replace Mail Service Technician while on vacation.
  • Transportation which may include but not limited to: driving the company car to pick-up/drop-off study volunteers (as required by location) picking up general supplies in support of onsite operations, transporting of facilities furniture, general errands and internal mail as required.
  • Assist in setting up for Altasciences special events (tents, tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Depending on location, may receive and deliver participant meals daily from outside caterer.
