About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Team Member role at Ferman BMW of Palm Harbor requires an individual who is friendly, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organization skills and be able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall functionality of the service shop, work areas, customer-facing spaces, and exterior areas of the facility. The team member will also assist with basic building maintenance, minor repairs, and support operational tasks for technicians and service staff, ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-ready environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment, hand tools, and basic maintenance equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
  • Good communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and work in a physically active environment for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures, noise levels, and shop environments
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Previous janitorial, maintenance, automotive shop, or facilities experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, maintenance practices, and shop safety standards
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred
  • Ability to safely move and park vehicles preferred
  • Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety practices preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends if needed

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service shop, work areas, and customer-facing spaces
  • Sweep, mop, pressure wash, and remove debris from floors and service bays
  • Empty trash, recycling, and hazardous waste containers in accordance with safety regulations
  • Monitor and restock shop supplies, cleaning products, and restroom inventory
  • Perform basic building maintenance and minor repairs as needed
  • Assist with upkeep of shop equipment, tools, and facility systems
  • Maintain exterior areas including parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances
  • Support safe working conditions by identifying and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns
  • Assist technicians and service staff with operational support tasks
  • Move vehicles, equipment, tires, and parts safely throughout the facility when required
  • Operate cleaning equipment and maintenance tools safely and effectively
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and environmental procedures
  • Help maintain an efficient, professional, and customer-ready service environment
  • Respond promptly to spills, leaks, and facility maintenance needs
  • Perform other facility support and maintenance duties as assigned
