About The Position

As part of an aseptic beverage manufacturing company, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist is critical to maintaining a safe, reliable facility infrastructure. This role ensures the upkeep of the building and facility systems while supporting mechanical needs when required. The specialist will maintain, test, evaluate, and inspect facility operations in compliance with GMP, SOPs, Environmental, Health & Safety guidelines, and local codes.

Requirements

  • Formal maintenance or facilities experience required.
  • Ability to work across multiple maintenance trades, including electrical, HVAC, boilers, welding, compressors, wastewater systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and food processing equipment.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and process flow schematics.
  • Skilled in operating a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practices for both facility infrastructure and mechanical systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and bend required for virtually the entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work with equipment that contains electric magnetic components.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of facilities maintenance experience in a GMP environment preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing; food/beverage industry experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute facilities maintenance, GMP tasks and update GMP tracker.
  • Participate in facility GMP walkthroughs with the Food Safety team.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to proactively identify maintenance and repair needs, ensuring optimal building conditions.
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, including walls, paint, concrete, floors, tile, and general building upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot and perform plumbing maintenance, including repairing and replacing faucets, clearing clogged drains, replacing traps, servicing steam system components, repairing flush valves, and replacing worn or damaged fixtures such as commode seats.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance on facility systems.
  • Document all maintenance activities per manufacturer's guidelines and facility standards.
  • Maintain maintenance schedules and collaborate with the maintenance planner.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting for facility-related issues.
  • Read and interpret building system manuals and safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate work logs, repair records, and maintenance documentation.
  • Support production operations when needed by assisting with mechanical repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, food safety, and operations teams on facility projects and improvements.
  • Investigate opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements in facility maintenance.
  • Perform minor building repairs and coordinate complex facility upgrades.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for facility-related needs.
  • Ensure proper lockout/tagout and safety procedures before performing work.
  • Adhere to Food Safety requirements and standards.
