About The Position

Completes all necessary maintenance and repairs on devices within the plant to lessen any disruptions in output levels.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of dairy processing equipment and food processing plant construction materials and techniques
  • Physical ability to perform assigned job
  • Self motivated, willing to accept responsibility, and make good decisions
  • Must have own basic hand tools and knowledge of proper use
  • Required skills in basic construction materials and techniques, industrial painting materials and techniques, industrial floor system installation and repair to include epoxy and tile.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for a manufacturing operation
  • Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment
  • Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality
  • Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English
  • Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant building assets including routine repair and maintenance of building floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and doorways both exterior and interior.
  • Maintain general facility systems including plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, floor coverings, wall coverings and ceiling panels.
  • Perform installation and repair of common building materials to perform minor construction projects.
  • Performs general and preventative maintenance to assure a safe and professional facility.
  • Maintains proper records, files, and necessary parts and supplies for facility assets.
  • Maintains all maintenance logs on assigned shift
  • Ensures that work area is always clean and orderly
  • Ensure that company tools and equipment are maintained properly
  • Acts as an effective communication channel between maintenance and operations teams
  • Promotes and exhibits strong safety practices
  • Ensures timely and proper completion of work orders and tasks
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Safely handle, measure, mix, and dispose of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals used in the Clean-In-Place (CIP) process in accordance with established procedures, safety data sheets (SDS), and company safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular and timely attendance required
