About The Position

Siltronic is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of highly specialized hyper pure silicon wafers. Our global production network in Asia, Europe, and the USA includes today’s most advanced plants for 200mm and 300mm wafers. The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installation, diagnosis, repair, and implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Program to minimize production downtime for mechanical, associated internal building utilities, and related systems. These include but are not limited to piping, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, electrical, electronic, chemical, HVAC, instrumentation, and programmable logic controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associates degree in a technical field, a two-year degree from an accredited technical training program or technical certificates equal to course material in the below technical areas.
  • Two years of experience with the company as a Maintenance Technician III, or minimum of 7 years experience as a Maintenance Technician in a related industry or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, operating, procedure, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written with individuals / groups of both internal and external customers.
  • To interpret and draw engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Write Standard Operational Procedures, Technical manuals and documents.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using Metric & English whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also ability to compute ratio, percentage, and to draw and interpret graphs and charts.
  • Proficiency in the above basic math, algebra, geometry, and standard Engineering formulas.
  • Proficiency with computer and software programs such as Word, Excel, SAP, etc.
  • Ability to sit / stand / walk / bend / twist / crouch / kneel / climb as required for various periods of time
  • Ability to lift/carry / push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to continuously stand and walk the entire shift
  • Regular work near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic, acidic or caustic chemicals, wet and / or humid conditions.
  • Work around moderate to high noise level
  • Frequently required to wear cleanroom attire, personal protective equipment and/or breathing devices
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize skills in millwright and welding to install, modify, assemble, and maintain equipment and associated supply systems.
  • Accomplish tasks by effectively connecting, routing, and assembling internal / external systems and components including but not limited to gearboxes, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, programmable logic controls and chemical.
  • Analyze equipment or system to determine malfunction and decide on proper repair action.
  • Completes repairs by removing, repairing, and replacing all necessary components of the equipment or system.
  • Discuss findings with area operators, leadership, engineers, and other technicians as needed to find immediate and long-term solutions.
  • Effectively maintain all records of repairs, calibrations, tests, preventative maintenance, spare parts, and procedures.
  • Effectively maintain proficiency in the following skills: Millwright, machine shop, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, machining, welding, and programmable logic systems.
  • Demonstrates effective housekeeping in the area of work and shop.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations.
  • Acquire and maintain the necessary State / Federal licenses / certificates as needed for certain job tasks.
  • Participates in and completes training as prescribed by corporate requirements and the immediate leadership.
  • Trains other technicians and new employees as prescribed by the immediate leadership.
  • Assist in the analysis and frequently works independently in the repair and preventative maintenance.
  • Works independently on analysis, repair, and assists other levels.
  • Assists engineers in improving process, equipment dependability, and productivity.
  • Accepts leadership abilities as needed and in accordance with the organization’s policies.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of company manufacturing, engineering process and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate with all levels of individuals within the company to maximize equipment, manufacturing reliability, and productivity.
