About The Position

Marotta Controls is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This critical role is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all facility infrastructure, production-related systems, and equipment. You'll play a key part in supporting the company’s operational goals and ensuring the functionality and safety of our working environment. This hands-on position requires a proactive and collaborative approach, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to complete repairs, improvements, and special projects on time and to standard.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
  • 5–7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fabrication tools and techniques.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift/move items up to 40 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and perform physical labor.
  • Comfortable working in various environments: office, shop floor, and outdoors.
  • Valid driver’s license and US citizenship required.
  • Forklift and Scissor Lift certification required (or ability to obtain).
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facilities to identify malfunctions, damages, and areas needing repair.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance: troubleshoot, install, and repair fixtures, switches, outlets, and wiring.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs: fix leaks, install low-pressure lines, and work with contractors on complex issues.
  • Fabricate and install HP gas and water lines, perform surface prep, painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Maintain HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and performing routine PM.
  • Use specialized tools including volt meters, hydrometers, amp probes, grinders, drills, and bending tools.
  • Support internal moves, reconfigurations, and light construction projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for work order and project support.
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Participate in seasonal snow removal and facility-related off-hour tasks.
