The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for completing a wide variety of tasks related to physical plant construction, installation, alteration, maintenance and repair. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Minimum 0-1 years’ relevant experience in building systems maintenance OR Appropriate licenses
  • Minimum 0-1 years’ related experience in building systems maintenance
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field from 2-year college or technical school
  • Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair and maintain building structures, grounds, and interior structures
  • Perform work in any of the following areas: maintenance, carpentry, cement finishing, electrical work, gardening/grounds, glazing, heating and refrigeration, locksmithing, masonry, metal work, painting, pest control, pipefitting, plastering, plumbing, roofing, sheet metal work, welding and related mechanical and trade work
  • Set up for facility functions
  • Grounds clean-up as directed by supervisor
  • Work cooperatively with and maintain relationships with laboratory technicians and other professionals within the site
  • Attend meetings and participate on committees as required
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Complete assigned jobs as identified by supervisor or on work orders
