About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the department that keeps buildings, grounds, and equipment in good working order at all company facilities. This person supervises the team that carries out daily maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of equipment and building systems/components. With input from the Maintenance Engineer and others, this person also develops, maintains, and oversees implementation of a long-term-plan of anticipated major repair/replacement expenses (roof, pavement, HVAC, etc.), while maintaining a technical presence on the floor.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and components, HVAC systems (heating, cooling, water, ventilation) and mechanical systems and components
  • High-level proficiency with use of wide variety of hand, power, and measuring tools
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with capital expenditure planning, estimating labor costs, controlling expenses, and project management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance operations for multiple sites
  • Manage Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for production machinery to minimize downtime
  • Reviewing, assigning, and tracking work orders, and other tasks
  • Ordering and managing the inventory of standard maintenance and housekeeping supplies, parts, and equipment
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records in the company’s maintenance management software system
  • Personnel management and supervision
  • Tracking and managing department spending
  • Managing third party contracts like snow removal, landscaping, waste removal, etc.
