About The Position

This role is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, documenting, reviewing, and implementing the maintenance, janitorial duties, repair, safety, and security of TURBOCAM buildings and grounds. The Facilities Maintenance Manager will also oversee the preventive maintenance, repair, and overall operation of key equipment and systems, including building fire alarm and suppression systems, heating & cooling systems, cooling towers, septic operations, pump houses, reverse osmosis, dry wells, and other water filtration systems. This position actively contributes as a hands-on leader involved in the day-to-day operations of the facilities to reduce downtime and optimize manufacturing efficiency. The manager will also lead and manage large-scale maintenance and capital projects, coordinate with external vendors and contractors, and collaborate with the EH&S team to maintain compliance with all municipal, state, and federal agencies. Additionally, the role involves supervising and managing the maintenance and janitorial team, providing training and continuous development, and performing various hands-on maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of college or equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates knowledge of operating budgets.
  • 5-10 years of extensive experience in maintenance with excellent technical knowledge of equipment and buildings, grounds and janitorial services, including operations, maintenance and repair; building construction; electrical systems, building materials and supplies, cranes & hoists, generators and UPS units.
  • Proficient with power tools, hand tools, forklifts.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • 3 years’ experience in Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
  • Intermediate level in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license from his/her state of residence.
  • Forklift certifiable.
  • Able to obtain DOT health card.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner, and request assistance when warranted.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of small places and crawl around machinery.
  • Must have range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, walking, standing, stooping and crouching for extended periods of time while performing duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing industry is desired.
  • Experience with maintenance management software helpful for preventative maintenance and scheduling to maintain accurate machine record keeping (Bigfoot CMMS preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, direct, document, review, and implement maintenance, janitorial duties, repair, safety, and security of TURBOCAM buildings and grounds.
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance, repair, and overall operation of key equipment and systems, including building fire alarm and suppression systems, heating & cooling systems, cooling towers, septic operations, pump houses, reverse osmosis, dry wells, and other water filtration systems.
  • Actively contribute as a hands-on leader involved in the day-to-day operations of the facilities to reduce downtime and optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Manage and participate in the on-call program, including scheduling staff to respond to incidents and urgent inquiries outside of regular work hours.
  • Lead and manage large-scale maintenance and capital projects, coordinating with external vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate with the EH&S team to maintain compliance with all municipal, state, and federal agencies, including testing and permitting of systems.
  • Supervise and manage the maintenance and janitorial team, ensuring efficient performance of all activities.
  • Provide training and continuous development to the maintenance and janitorial team to enhance skill sets and align with company goals.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks including painting, woodworking, lock repair, plumbing repair, and snow removal.
  • Administer contracts for buildings, grounds, roofing, and maintenance.
  • Maintain service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and electrical servicing.
  • Monitor maintenance and repair contracts related to machinery for buildings and building services.
  • Schedule and retain outside services for grounds care, maintenance needs, and waste removal.
  • Assist in the development of service contract proposals, requirements, and specifications.
  • Recommend types of support equipment to be purchased, evaluate bid submittals, and analyze equipment performance and energy efficiency.
  • Prepare and administer the operating budget for buildings, ground care, and maintenance.
  • Maintain documentation pertaining to machine servicing and safety project implementation, including inspection records.
  • Ensure responsibility for security and fire alarms systems, monthly fire extinguisher, forklift and crane checks, change belts and filters in air conditioners as needed, key control, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Install safety devices as identified, post safety signs, and mark and maintain easements.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
