About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly MAINTENANCE TECH Team Member! This position starts at $25.00 per hour with a $0.25/hour Shift Differential. The role involves performing highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment, resolving maintenance and mechanical problems promptly, and following all safety procedures. The technician will be responsible for conveyor belt repair, minor equipment repair, and replacing parts. They will work on low to high voltage systems (24 volts to 480 3-phase volts) and may perform welding on 18-gauge stainless steel (mig or tig). The role requires understanding the tools and equipment needed for each job, working independently to repair or troubleshoot machines and systems, monitoring machine operations, and completing maintenance recordkeeping. This includes updating logs, completing paperwork, and accounting for equipment used. Adherence to company GMP and safety policies is essential, as is maintaining a clean work area. The position may require working long hours and weekends, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Able to use a ladder or scissor lift.

Responsibilities

  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment.
  • Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Follows all lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Performs conveyor belt repair, minor equipment repair, and replaces parts in need of replacing.
  • Understands and determines when and what type of maintenance is needed.
  • Works on low to high voltage (24 volts to 480 3-phase volts).
  • Performs welding on 18-gauge stainless steel (mig or tig).
  • Understands the tools and equipment needed to do each job.
  • Works independently and repairs or troubleshoots machines and systems using necessary tools.
  • Monitors machine operations, gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machine is working properly.
  • Completes maintenance recordkeeping.
  • Keeps record of all work performed.
  • Update’s maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.
  • Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
  • Understands and follows the company GMP policy.
  • Understands and follows the company safety rules.
  • Cleans and maintains work area.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.
