Facilities & Maintenance Assistant - Maintenance Yard
About The Position
This is a Temporary position that works in the city’s right-of-way and facilities under general supervision. The Public Works Department currently has two (2) positions available: Maintenance Yard Facilities — building/grounds maintenance, janitorial duties, recycled materials, waste, graffiti, forklift/small equipment, and ABOP handling. Parkways — landscape and parkway maintenance, weed abatement, litter/debris removal, grounds, trails, and right-of-way maintenance. The Public Works Director, or designee, is authorized to change or reassign the successful candidate’s operational assignment when deemed necessary to support the needs and operations of the Department.
Requirements

- Mechanical and organizational skills
- Current valid driver’s license
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
Nice To Haves
- Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school highly desirable
- Certifications in Traffic Control Management, Concrete, Asphalt, Signs and Markings, HVAC, or Pesticide Applicators highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Traffic sign and marking maintenance and installation.
- Concrete maintenance and installation.
- Asphalt maintenance and installation.
- Recycled items collection and storage.
- Graffiti removal.
- Weed abatement.
- Waste removal.
- Building and grounds maintenance.
- Building Janitorial Duties.
- Small equipment operations.
- Operation of forklift.
- Collection and handling of anti-freeze, batteries, oil, and paint (ABOP).
- Landscape Maintenance.
- Trail, right-of-way and street maintenance including litter and debris removal.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
