About The Position

The Company B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. Position Facilities Maintainer, Nunavut. Location and Reporting Structure Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Requirements

Five (5) years of general facilities maintenance experience with exposure to Ancillary equipment.
A High School diploma.
Significant advancement through a related trade certification program or extensive supplemental vocational experience.
Experience with general carpentry and finishing work is required.
Ability to comprehend, read, write and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site.

Nice To Haves

Prior work at a mine site and/or remote location with limited access to supplies and equipment, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards; Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards e.g., tripping hazards; and ensure all safety standards are met.
Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the continuous operation of equipment and infrastructure.
Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, fixtures, and furniture across the Goose Site.
Utilize carpentry tools and techniques to fabricate and assemble wood components for various applications.
Work with site services team to design and implement custom carpentry solutions to meet specific operational needs.
Perform a variety of manual labor tasks in the goose site, Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and haul trucks.
Clean and stack salvaged material to a safe standard, clean up chemical spills and other contaminants in accordance with health and safety practices.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and materials used.
