About The Position

Perform general maintenance tasks as required in and around the facilities to maintain and enhance facility appearance. Provide general preventive maintenance/repair for facilities and process equipment. Provide technical leadership for the facilities department. Please note that this full-time position is project-based and is not expected to continue beyond December 2027, due to the planned relocation of the plant. Eligible new hires in good standing who successfully complete required training and demonstrate proficiency may qualify for incentive bonuses, contingent upon active employment at the time of position elimination.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Must be available for overtime as requested
  • Must have two to five years hand-on experience in general or facilities maintenance.
  • Must have previous fork-lift experience (Must pass EPC certification)
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must have clear driving record
  • Must pass Mechanical Aptitude Test

Nice To Haves

  • HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Material, Universal Waste, NFPA preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of stamping, heat treating, grinding, cleaning, finishing, plating molding, assembly/packaging operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to other in the Facilities department.
  • Coordinate with contractors/temporary workers on Facilities related projects.
  • Replace bulbs and/or ballasts as needed in lighting fixtures throughout the facility.
  • Maintain drains and make minor plumbing repair.
  • Evaluate the need to call in professional services.
  • Painting and performing general structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, walls, ceilings, furnishing and other physical structures of the facility.
  • Minor operation of cutting torch and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Maintain facility grounds including removal of snow/ice debris from walkways, general clean-up to enhance appearance of the facility.
  • Review Safety Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product.
  • Replace drinking water cups throughout the plant.
  • Local pick-up and delivery of supplies and materials as requested by supervisor.
  • Perform a variety of material handling using pallet jacks, motorized pallet jacks and motorized fork trucks including: Assisting in disposal/handling of grinding swarf, non-hazardous, and hazardous materials.
  • Unloading and storing empty drums for waste.
  • Unloading, storing, and maintaining Henry Filter pre-coat levels
  • Proper handling and disposal of all non-usable shipping crates and pallets.
  • Process system checks including, but not limited to; air compressors, air dryers, line sump pump, wash boxes, Henry Filter, CAU, boiler, chillers, WWTS, distillation unit, holding tanks, boiler feed water tanks, evaporator, lubrication systems, sand blasting, ammonia dissociator, nitrogen system, coat line, sintering furnace, prime machine, degreasers, etc…
