About The Position

RTX Enterprise Services is seeking a Facilities HVAC Technician for their Aurora, Colorado site. This role will also provide support to the Raytheon Omaha, Nebraska facility and other small sites within Colorado. The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, ensuring that Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC) components and systems are installed and maintained safely and in compliance with current National and local codes. Work must be planned and performed to minimize impact on business operations. The position requires adherence to all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines, and may involve performing other maintenance activities as requested by the Operations & Maintenance Manager. As part of the Aurora Operations & Maintenance Department, the technician will be required to carry a pager and be available for after-hours support on a rotational basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a facilities HVAC Technician.
  • AA/AS degree or other 2-year post high school training.
  • Universal EPA Certified.
  • HVAC Mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • General knowledge of Pneumatic controls, thermostats, and VAV Boxes.
  • Service and repair of environmental-control systems associated with mechanical systems.
  • Perform other maintenance-related tasks, such as troubleshooting and maintaining pump systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, etc.
  • Proficiency in the maintenance of large air handlers and roof top units.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC Schematics, electronic wiring diagrams, and architectural/mechanical blueprints.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Active and existing TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required after day 1.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facilities work necessary to operate, install, overhaul, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment assigned to facilities services for distribution and supply of energy and utilities used for HVAC systems, including installation and removal of equipment.
  • Develop, schedule, and execute PM programs on HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain HVAC credentials, including Refrigerant handling certifications.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and manuals to perform system installation work, adjust, and replace component assemblies and parts as required to restore service.
  • Assist others responsible for completing complex projects for new and refurbished systems.
  • Perform similar duties throughout the facility within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
  • Carry a pager and be available for after-hours support on a rotational basis with the other team members.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal building codes, practices, and regulations.
