About The Position

As a Facilities Grounds Person at the McWane Ductile New Jersey Plant, your task and goal are to promote and maintain a safe, clean, and pleasing environment throughout the plant and shared neighboring community areas. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in an industrial setting, experiencing high noise levels, heat, and various seasonal weather conditions. The ideal candidate must be physically capable of performing manual labor for extended periods and have general knowledge of light maintenance capabilities.

Requirements

Must possess general knowledge of and have hands-on experience with lite maintenance capabilities such as mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical skills trades – Handy Man
Must be able to operate a high-lift, scissor lift and materials handling equipment, i.e., forklift.
Be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions
Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment
Candidates must be physically capable of performing manual labor for extended periods.
Requires walking, bending, and/or squatting.
Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50lbs by hand.
Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50lbs or more using equipment.
This role requires individuals to work in a manufacturing environment, often involving heavy machinery, high noise levels, and exposure to airborne particles, with PPE provided for safety.

Responsibilities

Sweeping and removing debris / garbage
Monitoring and maintaining plant health
Trimming hedges, shrubs, and small trees
Inspecting grounds for safety hazards and performing necessary repairs
Operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment
Operating and maintaining powered sweeping equipment and vehicles
Assisting production department managers and superintendents in executing their areas housekeeping efforts
Maintain exterior sidewalks and internal plant safety walks to foster and ensure safe passage
Setting up, preparing, and clearing sites and plant facilities for events and functions
Perform snow removal and de-icing activities
Operate and maintain various snow removal equipment and vehicles
Perform all other general tasks as assigned or directed by facilities management / supervision
Observe health, safety, and compliance regulations during work operations
